The machine should be giving a tilt code which will help narrow down the problem, do you see a tilt code number on the LED display. What the history of the machine is such as was it working and just quit was it working and then moved and stopped working and so on. There are many things it could be but the tilt code is where to start.

A “12” tilt is a low battery and it will have to be replaced. The battery is soldered on the MPU but is easy to unsolder and replace. After replacing hold the white self test button down for three seconds then close the door and turn the reset-key. Be careful when sliding the MPU in and out not to bend any pins.

Since I live in california the coin hopper, coin accepter, bill validator have been removed... so is there any way that I can get it to play without having any of those installed? like a free play or timed play?? but I went ahead and replaced the batt. and now it reads error code 21. ....???

I have never replaced a battery and still had a 12 tilt so it must be a bad battery or a bad solder connection. These would be the most likely although the MPU may be bad.

You fixed the low battery that’s good but the game will need at least a coin comparator to play. The machine will not need a bill validator to work. A 21 tilt is a coin-in-optic error, ether it is missing, dirty and need the dust blown out or the optics are bad. Sometimes it can be the wiring or the MPU but bad or dirty coin-in-optics is the most common problem for a 21 tilt.
There is such a thing as tournament mode but this requires the tournament EPROM chips and possible set and clear chips if data gets corrupt. The best bet would be to repair the coin-in-assembly.

what model coin comparitor should I use?? I have a igt s plus double diamond upright machine. Its 25cent/token and accepts/plays up to 3coin/token. will a cc16 work? the manual says to use either a cc10 or cc20 but im having difficulty finding those models and/or at a decent price...

Here is a link to Happs which shows the models of comparators for each manufacture http://www.happcontrols.com/gaming/coin_comp/coin_guide.htm . Basically the CC-16 is for lower denominations such as 5 and 25 cents. The higher the number CC-20 CC-30 the higher the denom. The other thing to watch out for is inhibit or non-inhibit since it has been awhile I can’t remember of the top of my head which one your machine used (I think it was inhibit). Just make sure it is machine specific a Sigma CC-16 will not work with an IGT CC-16 comparator. By the way I would try EBay as Happs prices are very high sometimes.
One thing to mention is that a 21 tilt is not from a comparator but from a coin-in-optic problem which is below where the comparator sits. Also the coin comparator and where the coins are inserted outside the machine will be setup for a certain denomination which has to match the comparator 5-25 cents 50 cents token and so on. By the way a bad comparator will not give a machine tilt it just won’t take money.

yeah there is a solid flat plate where the coin/token are inserted and everything else has been removed. so i need everything, from where the coin goes in, all the way down to a hopper. I have a manual showing the parts so I will do my best to try and get this thing to work. but thank you very much for your time and im sure ill be asking you more questions in the near future! thanks again

I have never heard of a 47 tilt on an S-plus game so I think that the 47 is left over credits before the jackpot. I would start with the easiest things and be sure they are working such as the buttons and is the door shut completely. The game may need a clear chip to clear out old data although I have not seen that just because of a jackpot. Most likely it is something simple.

If I remember correctly I believe you do have to turn the reset key for that error. You can take the key out pull the wires through and touch them together until you get a key.

I have an IGT Double Diamond Haywire Model 96438300.
The display reads DOOR OPEN M and Main Battery Low.
What type of battery is required and where is it located?
How do I clear the DOOR OPEN M error?
Thanks,

I have a 1994 Double Diamonds slot machine. The paper money acceptor won't work. I got a bill stuck in it and had to take the bill acceptor out to get the money out and when I put it back, the light won't light up and it won't accept money. Is there a hand credit button inside that I can use instead of keep putting in money to get credits. The coin acceptor already doesn't work so if the bill acceptor doesn't work, the machine is worthless.
Help.
Thanks.

Is it possible to clear a 3300 code on an IGT w/o filling the hopper?

I am doubtful that this is possible.
If you have a 3300 then the S+ is trying to complete a payout sequence. You would - refill, let it continue its payout and refill again until it is complete.
There are a couple of techniques for avoiding this situation.
1. Remove the wire feeding your cash/credit button. If you can't cashout you can't get a 3300 error. Make sure you have your game set to have all pays go to credits 5-1 on most chips. Set your max credits to 9998 (there is a problem with 9999).
2. If you don't like the idea above, Set your max hopper pay to 1. This will cause the machine to spit out one coin then the machine will lock up into 'hand pay'. You simply turn the reset key and the machine will count down the pay on the LED windows, reset it self and continue. You will note that most of the machines will say Max Hopper Pay 400 or 1000 on the reel glass, this is the same thing but smaller.
Note it is not possible to make any of these settings changes until you have 0 credits on the machine.
